John Deere’s largest air cart provides enhanced seeding capacity and precision agriculture capabilities, designed to make large ag producers more efficient

John Deere is helping large-scale agriculture producers spend more time seeding and less time tendering with its C1450T air cart, which not only increases seeding capacity but also provides a variety of precision agriculture capabilities.

Marking its largest air cart to date, John Deere’s C1450T boasts a 1,460-bushel capacity with a five-tank design, one more tank than the previous largest C-series model, the C1100T, Benjamin Zelle, marketing manager for planters and seeding at John Deere, told AgNavigator. C1450T’s largest individual tank holds up to 635 bushels, while the smallest is a 105-bushel flex tank with upper and lower fill locations.

To make filling the air cart easier, John Deere added a larger 16-inch hydraulic conveyor and the option to add the EzLift system ─ a mechanical arm with 2,400 pounds of lifting capacity designed for bulk seed bags ─ which is also available for the C1100T air cart. Additionally, the C1450T can be equipped with an optional bulk bag side storage platform.

Additionally, the C1450T comes with dual rear tires and the option for dual front tires, as part of a high-flotation tire offering. High-flotation tires reduce soil compaction, thus preventing ruts from forming, Zelle explained.

C1450T features were designed to improve farming efficiency by capitalizing on the tight window of time that growers can seed, which was even tighter this year due to wet field conditions, Zelle noted.

With the C1450T, “you spend less time tendering, and more time seeding through the field. And as we think about who that customer is, it’s those customers who have lots of acres to cover in a short amount of time that are looking for a larger solution. And we’re able to provide that today with both the C1100T and the 1450T in a trail configuration air cart,” Zelle elaborated.

How the C1450T fits into John Deere’s larger precision ag story?

John Deere’s C1450T air carts come with all the features from previous C-Series models, including precision ag capabilities, like the EzCal calibration system.

Additionally, farmers can adjust seeding rates and change meter displacement values with ActiveCal and receive in-cabin alerts about product blockages through the RelativeFlow Blockage system. John Deere’s AccuRate also offers Curve Compensation and SectionCommand Pro, which controls seed and fertilizer placement.

Inside the tractor cabin, farmers can access AccuRate and EZCal capabilities through John Deere’s G5 displays, which can connect these precision ag features to John Deere Operations Center.

“We’re focused on providing a total seeding solution. And when I talk about a total seeding solution, I mean the tractor to the air seeding tool to the air seeding cart, wrapped together with that technology that we provide through our precision ag suite of services. And that’s something that John Deere is able to differentiate and provide because we can provide a single system within your cab all through our G5 display,” Zelle said.

The C1100T and C1450T were both showcased at the 2026 Ag in Motion farm show in Saskatchewan, Canada, July 21-23. Farmers interested in C1450T air carts are encouraged to contact their local John Deere representative, and the first air carts are expected to ship in Spring 2027.
