The stage is set for the 2026 edition of the World Agri-Tech South America Summit

Despite geopolitical risks, supply chain complications, and climate change challenges, Brazil remains one of the most robust ag markets in the world and is tackling each issue with innovation, technology — and most importantly — the hard work of farmers.

Over the year, Brazil’s agricultural sector broke production and export records, with soybeans being a key crop. Brazil is estimated to have produced 180 million metric tons of soybeans in market year (MY) 2025/2026, an increase of 7.5 million metric tons from the previous year, according to USDA data. This led to record soybean crushing, increasing from 58.2 million metric tons in MY 2024/25 to 61.5 million metric tons in MY 2025/2026,

However, after years of growth, Brazil is grappling with geopolitical risks and slower growth.

The Iran war exposed a weakness in Brazil’s ag sector — fertilizer imports. Despite a supposed end to the Iran war, fertilizer prices are projected to remain elevated for months to come, raising concerns that Brazilian soybean farmers will cut fertilizer applications and farm on less land, thus reducing overall production.

These events serve as a backdrop to this year’s World Agri-Tech South America summit, June 23-24, at the Hotel Unique in São Paulo. Leaders and stakeholders from across Brazil’s ag sector will gather to discuss agricultural innovation and discuss how the country can navigate these challenges to sustain growth.
