Ag movers & shakers for July 2026: CNH shakes up CTO role, ADM appoints COO

CNH makes a series of executive changes

In a 8-K filling on July 28, CNH revealed that two longtime executives were retiring, including its current CTO, Jay Schroeder, and Agriculture Chief Commercial Officer, Stefano Pampalone. This comes after “decades of dedicated service, leadership, and significant contributions to the company” as shared in the filling.

Pampalone will retire effective Sept. 1, 2026, and Schroeder on Jan. 1, 2027, with both expected to stay on in advisory capacity amid the transition.

CNH’s current VP of Precision Technology Product Management, Eric Shuman, will assume the CTO role on Jan 1, having served the company for more than 25 years in different leadership roles. Additionally, Chun Woytera was appointed to the role of chief product and sustainability officer, Carlo Materazzo as chief manufacturing and quality officer, and Markus Müller as president, EMEA and parts and service, following Pampalone’s retirement.

ADM names Jeff Rowe executive VP, COO

Rowe joins ADM after nearly a decade at Syngenta, more recently serving as the ag supplier’s CEO, where he drove sustainable farming and AI innovation strategies. Prior to Syngenta, he served in various roles at DuPont Pioneer, including the VP of strategic service and planning, and regional director for its European division.

Rowe is a fifth-generation farmer and holds a Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics from Iowa State University, a global executive MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and the London School of Economics, and a Juris Doctorate from Drake Law School of Economics.

Rabobank appoints COO for North America

International cooperative banker for the ag, food, and energy industries Rabobank named Christiaan ter Haar chief operating officer (COO) for Rabobank North America, effective July 1, 2026. With over 20 years with Rabobank North America, ter Haar most recently reserved as the COO in an interim capacity since late February and previously served as the head of technology.

“Christiaan has demonstrated exceptional leadership, deep institutional knowledge and a strong commitment to enabling the business through operational excellence. … His contributions as Head of Technology, and more recently as interim COO, have strengthened the way our teams operate, collaborate and deliver for clients. Christiaan brings the discipline, perspective and steady leadership needed to continue evolving our platform and supporting Rabobank’s long-term ambitions in North America,” said Willem Boezen, head and CEO of Rabobank North America, in a press release.
